DIANA

My name is Diana Rincón, I’m from Bogotá, Colombia and I´m 28 years old. I live with my mother and our dog, Nova. Nova is a beautiful Siberian Husky. I studied humanities and languages at the Libre University. I enjoy many activities, including watching movies and shows on television, going the cinema, exploring new places, reading books and going to different restaurants. My favorite foods are spaghetti, hamburgers and seafood. This is my first time in the United States and I want to explore new places and learn about the American culture. I’m excited to experience the seasons here in Washington, because in Colombia we do not have them. I would like to learn and practice snow sports. Additionally, I look forward to sharing my culture and teaching Spanish to the children at Puesta Del Sol.

PATRICIA

Hi everybody! My name is Patricia and I am 24 years old.  I live with my family in the village of Valladolid City in Spain.  I have a younger sister who is 18 and a younger brother who is 13.  They are a very special part of my life. I studied Social Education at Valladolid's University, so teaching is a new experience for me and I am very excited. This is my first time at USA and I want to learn about education and American culture. I love dancing flamenco, bachata and salsa.  Music is an important way to express how I feel. During my time here, I want to enjoy every second, travel, improve my English and get to know the students at Puesta del Sol.  I look forward to meeting you and your family.

JENNIFER

My name is Jennifer Cisneros. I am from El Salvador and am 21 years old.  I am studying to get a bachelor degree in English at Universidad Gerardo Barrios in the city of Usulután and will graduate next year. I enjoy singing, dancing, doing outdoor activities, traveling and discovering cultures around the world.  I have traveled to Poland, Spain, Italy, Costa Rica and others Central American countries and am now so excited to be here!   I am planning to explore as much of the region as I can, taking in its art, history, food, etc.  Speaking of food, I love any kind of food especially Chinese food and seafood.   I am most excited to share my culture and to learn about the American culture.  I would love to learn how children in U.S. are educated and would love to meet as many of the families at Puesta del Sol as I can. Experiences are for life and this new experience is worthwhile!

YOANA

Hello! My name is Yoana and I am 23 years old. I am from the small town of Reinosa, in the North of Spain. I lived there with my parents and 13 year old sister, Maria. I attended the University of Palencia where I studied Education. I would love to one day follow my passion of teaching and be a primary school teacher.  My hobbies are to read, write, draw and photography. In my free time I like traveling and meeting with my friends too. I have traveled to Portugal, Poland, Germany and France. Moreover, I lived in Switzerland for one year and I can speak a bit of German. My favorite sports are hiking and paddle-tennis. I love animals, I have two fish and two dogs, one is German shepherd and the other is a Pomerania. I'm very happy to know the American culture and to be here with you this year!

ELDA

Hi! I'm Elda Sancho, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Palencia, a small city in the north of Spain. There, I live with my family - my mother, my father and my sister Tania, who is 24 years old. In addition, we have three cats, we love animals.  I have a degree in Elementary Education with a specialty in English teaching from the University of Valladolid. After graduating, I passed an exam to become an English teacher in a public school in Castilla y León, the region where Palencia is located. But then my plans changed and I decided to start a Master's Degree in Bilingual Education at UNIR (International University of La Rioja).
This is my first time in the United States, but not my first time away from home, I spent 6 months during my last year at University in The Netherlands enjoying a scholarship.
I love children, they are my passion and this is one of the reasons why I'm here. I would like to learn about the US Educational System and how to teach a foreign language to elementary students. I also want to share the Spanish culture and enjoy it with you as well as share the American culture. Moreover, I want to improve my English. I also like music, watching movies, walking, cycling and talking, I'm a very talkative person among other things.

LINA

My name is Lina, I am 29 years old I am in third year of my BA in English and Bilingualism. I am from Bogota-Colombia, I live with my grandparents, an aunt and my daughter who is now 10 years old. This is my first time in the USA.  I love teaching a second language, enjoy cooking and reading romantic novels. I look forward to learn new teaching methodologies to apply them in my future teaching career. Living and learning the American culture is one of my main objectives of this experience. I would like to have fun and see the adjustment of the kids in their new school year.
