SUB-COMMITTEE

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Foods of the World Manager

Solicit cultural food donations from the community.  Manage sub-committee team to ensure that all food donors are provided proper donation receipts and acknowledgement at the International Festival and in the performance program.

Performance Manager

Master scheduler for all acts.
Coordinates with all act leads to fill their acts with kids. 
Ensures each act has chaperones committed that will be at each rehearsal.
Coordinates for rehearsal space/time for each act.
Publishes practice/rehearsal/performance schedule.
Ensures each act is on track- performance readiness.
Works with chaperones and act leads to ensure that they have collected any permission slips/ waivers required.
Think Airline Operations Manager.

Ongoing commitment from now until the show.

Green Room Manager

Take command of the back stage line-up of acts.
Works closely with the Stage Managers and act chaperones/leads to quietly and seamlessly put each act on stage and pull each act off stage.
Think Airline Boarding Agent.

Two day commitment (rehearsal day + show day) plus a few planning meetings.

Emcee

Are you energetic and witty?  
Are you a ham on stage that can talk the talk?  How's your repertoire of family-friendly time-filler jokes?  
If so, this is the job for you!  Become the future voice of our International Festival?  
Think Bob Barker, Ellen, Oprah, or Jimmy Fallon.

Two day commitment (rehearsal day + show day).

Stage Managers

Can you hold it together in the eye of the storm?  
We are looking for two VIPs that will run the show. You will be backstage for the entire show in your black garb and headsets.  You'll work with the audio booth, the Green Room Manager, the Emcee, stage lighting, etc.. to ensure that everyone in the audience sees a great show and has no idea what chaos might exist behind the curtain.
Think Men in Black or Women in Black.  You are in control!

Two day commitment (rehearsal day + show day) plus a few planning meetings.

Audio Gurus

Are you the mix master?
We need a few audio gurus.
Prior to the show we need someone that can mix music from 15-18 different sources into one track that we can tee up/ start/ stop for the run of the show.
On the day of the rehearsal and day of show we need someone to assist in the sound booth.  We will have a pro in the booth.

Decorations

Decorate the Foods of the World area prior to the performance.

Amity Coordinator

Help manage the Amities with their acts and ensure that they are on track.

Rehearsal / Performance Day Volunteer Leader and helpers

Do you enjoy the circus?
We need a small army of Ring-Leaders to corral, sort, and manage hundreds of kids, costumes, instruments, food arrivals, food-service volunteers, chaperones, and other volunteers, between arrival, check-in, staging areas, green room, theater, meals, and check-out.

Two day commitment (rehearsal day + show day) for all plus a few planning meetings for the lead.

Bake Sale

Do you enjoy baking? 
Bake sweet treats for the festival.  Manage sales of baked goods.

Programs

Design and publish printed show programs to be handed out on the day of show.  (Template available).
Work with Performance Manager to document all performer names in each act and act line-up for each show.

Ongoing commitment prior to show.

Ticket Sales Manager and a few people to run school ticket distribution.

Works with Web page manager to run online ticket sales for show and meals. Training available.
A few people needed to make tickets available for pick up at school prior to the show and take and questions/calls about ticket sales

Ticket Will Call Lead and Staffers

Work directly with Ticket Sales Manager to ensure that all tickets to be picked up at the show in an organized and quick manner.

Photographer(s)

Do you have skills?  Is your long range, stop-action SLR lens your pride & joy?  Then we have a fun job for you!

Two day commitment (rehearsal day + show day)

Publicity

Work with International Festival Committee, School Principal, and even Photographer(s), and Performance Manager to drive publicity for our event as needed to optimize ticket sales before the show and to garner as much PR for our school and program after the show.

Videographer

Looking for high-quality videographer will to tape both shows on show day and make CDs or downloads of the video available to the performer's families at cost.

 

Costumers

Can you sew?  Are you crafty?  
Join this team and make our kids look fabulous on stage!
Work with each performance lead to create an easy and fun costume for the kids to don and transform.

Act Chaperones

Soon you will be seeing invites for students to sign up for performances.  Every performance will need at least two chaperones at every practice, rehearsal, and performance.
