Puesta del Sol's 6th Annual "Box Tops Collection Contest" is happening! Last year, first graders were the winners! It was a close competition with second graders! The collection runs between Jan. 22nd - Feb. 14th. Start clipping Box Tops and send those with your kids, so they and their buddies can have an extra recess (weather permitting)!
So far, we've collected $211.00. Let's get at least $750 for Puesta del Sol!
Each classroom will have a collection box.

This is a two part challenge:

With the school cancellations this week, we were unable to hold the planned Science Fair Information Night. The Science Fair Chairs have put together a 17 minute video presentation to help parents better understand how to participate in the Science Fair on Wednesday, March 27th.
This video is packed with information about the Science Fair- if you have a question, odds are very high that you will find an answer in the video! After Mid-Winter Break, we may hold a conference call to answer any remaining questions. If you would like to participate in the call, please send an email to sciencefair@puestadelsolpta.org to help us gauge interest.

Dear Puesta del Sol Famlies,
It was exciting to see a well-rounded engaged group of parents at our International Spanish Academy (ISA) Information Night and General Membership meeting.
|
It does not go unnoticed that many Puesta del Sol families care about our ISA program and are curious about the 12-year scope and the vast opportunities our students are afforded in Middle School and High School. Thank you to Paris Granville, our BSD World Language Developer, for presenting and to the student panel from Tillicum Middle School and Newport High School.
During our general membership meeting, we learned important Fall Survey Results that will affect our budget planning for the 2019-2020 school-year. We also know what our membership values most, our Amity Intern Program. Additionally, budget and fundraising topics were presented and discussed including our rising expenses and fundraising needs for the upcoming year. In a nutshell, we have had a $30,000 increase in budget over the past 5 years and the need to raise $115,00 in 2019 to stay on track for our budget. Our PTA leadership gained better insight from our membership in regards to fundraising methods, budget communication and volunteer needs.
We will continue our wonderful programming into the Spring and hope to see you at the next General Membership Meeting on April 18th. If you would like to know more or have questions, please email us at president@puestadelsolpta.org.
Thank you,
Anne Wilson and Grace Muro-Aje, PTA co-Presidents
