Looking for a Web Manager
Have you ever planned a child's birthday party, a wedding, or a reunion? Can you juggle multiple tasks at one time? Then you have the skills we need!  We are looking for an organized person who is also good at communicating and can oversee and follow up on a variety of tasks. 
 
The PTA is looking for a new Web Manager to oversee many aspects of the PTA website including: reply to emails, validate site users, and make sure programs and tasks are on track. The Web Manager works closely with the Webmaster (technical), Web Content Team (website information), Programs Registrar (online registrations), and PTA Board to make sure the website is an active and up-to-date tool for communications.  This role offers full training and has a terrific team already in place to support you.  Contact webmaster@puestadelsolpta.org to find out more!

Staff Appreciation Treat Days
As part of the ongoing effort to show staff how much we appreciate their talent, skill, and commitment to our students, each grade level has been assigned a day to bring in treats for the staff; look for details from your room parent. (5th graders aren’t included due to their busy schedule.)
 
January 10 - 1st grade
February 7th - 2nd grade              
March 7 - 3rd grade
April 18 - 4th grade
June 6 - Kindergarten

May 7 - 11 is Staff Appreciation Week

PTA General Membership Meeting

Join us in the school library at 6:30pm on May 30 for our second to last general membership meeting. We will hold the election for next year’s PTA board (full slate, yay!), review and vote on grant requests, and have a short presentation on the current status of the Puesta del Sol Design Committee’s progress on creating a new Puesta del Sol. We hope you can join us!


We're getting a new school! In a new location!

Our beloved Puesta del Sol, previously Sunset Elementary, is last on the list of elementary schools in the Bellevue School District to be rebuilt. Rather than rebuilding on its current site, the decision was made to relocate the school to a more central location in Bellevue, in the Lake Hills neighborhood.

Our new school will be built on the current site of Bellewood Elementary, the school that has been used as the temporary space for other elementary schools while their campuses were in the rebuild phase.

The Design Committee is excited to share what we are learning in the design process for the new building.  Two parent representatives from the committee have created a page here on our PTA website and you can review our Rebuilding Puesta del Sol page to learn more.  If you would like to offer comments about how the new school is designed, things you like in other schools you’ve seen, or general feedback, please email our parent representatives at RebuildPuesta@puestadelsolpta.org.


Multicultural Potluck Picnic for Puesta del Sol Families, Friends, Teachers & Staff

Hosted by the PTA's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

Join us for a potluck picnic to celebrate our rich cultural diversity and build our sense of community. Please bring a nut- free dish representative of your culture/tradition to share. Bring a blanket and/or camping chair for outdoor potluck.

International Fair Success!

Puesta Del Sol students, parents, teacher and administrators,

The PTA would like to share our sincere gratitude to Loreana Marciante, Scott Polovitch-Davis and Dave Patton, as well as the Amity Interns, Diana, Patricia, Jennifer, Yoana, Elda and Lina for all their efforts in making this year’s International Festival a huge success!  It turned out to be an excellent experience for students and families and is great example of an event that strengthens our community.  This year’s event was very well organized and the performances were excellent.  Thanks so much! 

Of course events like this wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers and chaperones, so we wanted to make sure to thank them for all their hard work as well.  Everyone really appreciates your commitment.

On behalf of everyone in the audience, we also wanted to thank this year’s performers!  The show was so much fun to watch and the students were awesome.  Thanks again for your dedication to making the acts a success.
