Black history, culture, and stories are essential every month of the year, and especially in the month of February as we celebrate Black History Month. At school, themes of African-American and Black history will be integrated into the curriculum throughout the month. We encourage you to extend the learning at home! Below are opportunities to engage in local events and education:

  • Black Voices Book Fair (In person and Online)
  • Documentary by local Seattle attorney and activist, Jeffery Robinson, “Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America” (available on Netflix, appropriate for adults)
  • Visit the newly re-opened Northwest African-American Museum
