PARKING Information

We request that you wait until after 4:30pm to park in the school lot, to allow enough time for school dismissal.

We will have a loading and unloading zone outside of the gym, in the usual staff parking lot.

Onsite Parking: Per onsite parking limitations, we request that one vehicle per student household park in the school parking lots. We will have limited, reserved spaces coned off for volunteers, dignitaries, and ADA/Limited Mobility parking.

Off Site Parking ***NOTE: NEW PARKING OPTIONS***

We have received special event parking permission from

Hopelink, 14812 Main St, Bellevue, WA 98007. 45 parking spaces.

They are very close to the school, just across from the Kelsey Creek Shopping Center. You may park in any available spot.

Nearby Neighborhoods/trail-You may park in nearby neighborhoods with the exception of 151st Place NE. You may park in the neighborhoods at the other end of the trail, where there is plentiful parking, and then take a short walk to school, as pictured below:

Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 411 156th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98007. You may park in any spot, NOT INCLUDING spots in front of the Ark Early Center. It is a 12-15 minute walk to school.

We do not recommend parking in Kelsey Creek Shopping center, where tickets may be issued for drivers who walk off the premises. We do encourage families who are concerned about parking, and that are able to do so-please carpool, use ride sharing services, or walk if your home is close to the school.

FAQ:

How long is the ceremony?

The ceremony begins at 5:30 and may last up to 2 hours. After the ceremony, students will receive a gift bag, which will include t-shirts with fabric markers for them to walk around and get signed.

Do I/my guests need a ticket?

Yes. We have sent home 7 tickets per student.

Are there any extra tickets available?

If a student has tickets that will be unused, those tickets can be given to other families. Often families will post on grade-level Facebook pages or ask friends for spare tickets. We cannot offer more tickets to any one student, per space issues in the auditorium.

Do guests under 5 need a ticket?

Yes, please. Infants in laps are the exception. We anticipate a very crowded gym.

Will there be food?

Thanks to the generosity of our families and the fundraising prowess of the Events Committee team - we are excited to announce that we will be serving a light evening meal after the ceremony. Food and drinks are complimentary. We will set out snacks before graduation. At the conclusion of graduation we will serve croissant sandwiches, chicken & swiss rollers, pepperoni pizza and cheese pizza, with fruit platters and beverages. We will also have cake!

What time should students arrive and where should they go?

Those students participating in the graduation ceremony should arrive at 5:00 pm and should meet outside of the library on the top floor.

What should students wear?

Some students may choose to dress up. We understand that is not an option for all students, and we do not have a dress code.

Will students be given caps and gowns?

As part of the 2030 legacy gift to the school, royal blue graduation caps were purchased and will be worn by the students. They will be used for the evening only and should be returned after the ceremony.

May I use wi-fi during the ceremony?

We have a videographer who will be attempting to livestream over wifi during the ceremony, and they have requested we please limit all wi-fi use if at all possible.

How did student speakers get chosen?

We sent newsletters out to every student’s family, and invited students who were willing to write a speech for commencement to fill out a form to self nominate. We had very few responses, so invited the entire grade, at graduation practice, to sign up. From the nine entries we received, four were given a speaking role. The remaining 5 were invited to read the poem mentioned in the next question.

How did student poem readers get chosen?

Since we had so few self-nominations, the principal went into all three classrooms and for the second time, invited every student the opportunity to read the poem. More students accepted the opportunity, and those students will be speaking at graduation.

What if my student won’t be at graduation?

If your student is NOT attending graduation, please email [email protected] ASAP so that we can ensure they get their goodie bag and diplomas before the event.
