Cross-Cultural PTA Family Programs '24-'25

Puesta del Sol PTA has been selected to be part of the City of Bellevue's "Cross-Cultural Center without Walls."  This program offers funding for local organizations to host events or workshops that bring people together around shared intercultural experiences.

For the '24-'25 school year, the PTA will host three family engagement events that highlight similar cultural traditions in our community and include presentations/interviews, food, and hands-on activities:

Saturday, November 2: Dia de los Muertos and Chuseok

Date TBD / Winter: Hanukkah and Diwali

Date TBD / Spring : Children’s Festivals

These interactive programs will be run by Puesta del Sol families, including students! Please contact [email protected] to join the planning committees; all levels of commitment are welcome!

“One School, Many Stories” Family Culture Display Cases

The PTA DEI committee coordinates monthly rotating displays of family culture in our school's display cases. The displays typically include items such as photos, books, clothing, art, etc. and can be created by one family, a group of families, or staff. Contributions do not need to represent a country; they can include items or photos that tell stories about family history, faith, occupation, disability, and other experiences or identities.
