Break it down with Salsa/Hip Hop Dance!

Join the new Salsa Hip Hop Dance combo class, a vibrant mix of salsa music with hip hop beats. Hip hop, derived from street jazz and funk styles is blended with Afro-Caribbean rhythms, to form this high energy class which develops strength, flexibility and body conditioning. Students will have fun with the warm up, improving ear/music connection, developing memory and attention to detail.

The class is taught by instructor Angela Delahoz. One or more parents of students participating in the class will also be present to help with attendance.

This is a PTA-sponsored program and is taught in Spanish.

Who May Participate? 

Salsa/Hip Hop is open to boys and girls in grades 3-5,  grades 1 & 2 will be allowed with instructor approval.  Maximum of 16 students per session.  If the minimum enrollment of 5 students is not met, the class may be canceled.


How Can I Volunteer?

At least one PTA-member Parent must always be present to take attendance and help supervise. Parent Volunteer receives a 50% discounted registration fee for his/her child.  Please register for the Parent Volunteer discount upon checkout. Only one discounted volunteer registration is available. 


Time and Location:  Fridays, 3:35-4:50pm in the Band Portable (P-2). Class ends promptly at 4:50pm.

Please have your child meet the instructor and chaperone in the Band portable right after school ends. Please supply your child with an after school nut-free snack and water bottle.



Please have your child wear comfortable clothing to class. All participants are required to dress alike for presentation purposes. Performance attire will be available for rental and/or purchase through the instructor.  Rental fee will be $14.50.

 50% discounted tuition for parent volunteer committed to attend full session. Select Parent Volunteer when registering, only one discounted position available. 10% discount for 2nd and subsequent sibling, select Additional Child when registering.

We recognize that families have different abilities to pay and have developed this voluntary 4-tier fee structure to better meet everyone’s needs. Simply select the rate appropriate for your family’s budget. This is completely confidential and does not impact your child’s program experience in any way.

  • Tier 4 reflects the full cost of sending a student to the program selected. If you are able to pay this amount, please do. Thank you.
  • Tier 3 is 33% subsidized rate to help families who can't afford the full cost of the program. Choose this rate if your family needs a partial subsidy.
  • Tier 2 is a 66% subsidy for families who need assistance to send a child to the program. Choose this rate if your family needs it.
  • Tier 1 is a full subsidy for families with children who would not attend the program otherwise. Choose this rate if your family needs it, and please also submit the PTA Financial Aid form.

 Financial aid may be available for families with financial needs.  If you would like to apply for financial aid, please fill out the Financial Aid Form and submit it to the Principal for approval. The Principal will pass the form on to the Deposits treasurer.  All requests are kept confidential.

The last day to apply for financial aid for Session 4 is Friday, May 18.  

 Our cancellation and refund policies:

 A check fee of $5 per order the will be automatically added to your online order when you opt to "pay by check."  Financial aid co-pays will not be assessed the $5 fee.
