Lost and Found items will be outside in front of the school until Tuesday afternoon. Please stop by and check over the racks if you are able. ALL remaining items will be donated at 3:45p on Tuesday, May 30th.
Students will be bringing home the GOLD this year. (Spoiler Alert: Everyone is a Gold Medalist on Field Day!)
Please help your student/s dress for today’s weather in P.E. attire and consider sending a change of clothes and/or a towel, just in case. There will be a water balloon toss station.
And consider having your student/s wear sunscreen to school or bring sunscreen to put on.
We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to our Puesta del Sol families for making Field Day possible by volunteering, your wish list contributions, and donating to our PTA so they may fund exciting events like Field Day for our students. Thank you for all of your support.
Reminder: Only pre-registered Field Day volunteers may attend the event. Volunteer sign up ended on May 24th. If you aren’t a volunteer, please plan to pick up your student like usual.

Even though Field Day is a fun activity for the students, it takes place at school during school hours so all school rules still apply!
These include:
- NO spray sunscreen is allowed at school!
* If your student is bringing sunscreen, please review these BSD directions for sending sunscreen with your child to school - Using Sunscreen at School
- Only BSD registered Field Day Volunteers may attend.
* All volunteers MUST be registered with the Bellevue School District and that registration must be renewed every 3 years.
* You must have a valid reason (ie - volunteering) to be at school during school hours.
- No early student check-out after Field Day ends - unless it’s for a valid appointment.
* Unless your student has a scheduled appointment, we can’t allow students to be taken out of school between the end of Field Day and the end of the school day. This causes undue stress on our office staff, who are managing a lot of additional activity on Field Day.

The sun was shining and we had a great turn out, thanks to our school and local community that came out to support for our Earth Day Rummage Sale at the end of last month.
Thank you to all our Puesta del Sol families who gave donations out for our Earth Day Rummage Sale! Activities for fundraising is one of the backbones of Puesta del Sol PTA so we can keep our support the educational enrichment our kids and school community.
A big thank you to our organizer Sabrina Henderson, and her company London House Staging and Design for her time and generosity including donations of some fabulous furniture and decorative pieces for the sale, as well as Tara Jones for all her hard work on the Fundraising throughout this year, and to our volunteers who helped out at the event!
Thanks to those helping at our Friday school volunteering opportunity: Funday Fridays! It has been a great opportunity to help out and get connected with our school.
After our initial pilot, we will keep going with the volunteering, but adjust to only Friday. Morning sessions starting on Friday, 5/19.
Starting on Friday 5/19, Fridays at 9:15-10:00am will be open volunteering sessions to gather and help out at school. On arriving, check out the PTA Office to find where we will be gathering and/or posting the volunteer task of the day.
For one morning in May, we transformed the Puesta del Sol Gym into an opera house-- with the sounds of singing, a bird and a monkey –all performed by members of Seattle Opera!
After a pause due COVID, and now thanks to the work of Angela Carey, this year's SITA (Spanish Immersion Through the Arts) Coordinator, and your Puesta del Sol PTA donations, our kids were fortunate to experience TWO unique arts enrichment programs, both featuring artist Frida Kahlo.
On May 4, the one and only Seattle Opera performed a short performance of "Frida Kahlo y la niña más valiente del mundo" (or "Friday Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World") and hosted a Q & A.
Later this month, our students also did visual art projects with artist Adriana Morales with techniques inspired by Frida Kahlo.
Welcome back SITA, and thank you again Angela and our awesome Art Appreciation and other volunteers for putting this together!
The Amity Program offers interns a unique cultural and teaching experience at Puesta. We have four amazing interns this year who are serving in various classrooms.
We are looking for host families for the 2023-2024 school year. Hosting can be 3-6-9 month experience. If you are interested in learning about the program or hosting or connecting to a current host family, please contact [email protected]
